Drawings

I decided the IPH would be better off if I drew it on a real piece of paper with a real pencil instead of the tablet. I'm just more in tune with a lead pencil. However, I will fill in the blacks on the computer. I am thinking about doing the color with colored pencils. Don't scowl like that, I know, I know, colored pencils are for grade school kids, but this is a comic and I don't like doing colors on the computer. I don't want to paint it either. I want to experiment with light flushes of color in the panels that take place in the real world and just use graphite to shade in the afterworld panels.
IPH issue 1 page 1 without the black-blacks and the color.

These two drawings are people off of  http://www.thesartorialist.com/ That is a great website for not only checking out some cool fashions, but also getting good drawing models with cool clothes.

I really need to get on that sketching thing more often. I found a cool quote on reddit "The great task is to blend creative intensity with relentless discipline." I'll just add practice discipline to my to-do list, I'm sure that will help.

Poubelle

Some mysterious illness plagued the kittens and they all died. Poubelle was the last to go and her death was tragically long, drawn-out and painful. I'm so sad that she had such a short life and such an awful death. But I'm glad I got to cuddle and play with her at all. She was an adorable, loveable kitten.

Photography Prep

I want to start selling online as a way to make some extra money to start working on paying off loans (but mainly to pay for my craft addiction). The thing that I've learned to be the most important from the hundreds of blogs I've read is to take great pictures.  I've decided I need to pull out some of those art major skills I had stored up and dust them off. So this is an experiment in photography with two of my best friends, Teddy and Blanky (I've always been creative and on the cutting edge, eh?)
This is my favorite.
The manager had to have a word with my client.

So what do you think? Successful or not?
Got any helpful hints?

Poubelle et moi

My french is rusty and wasn't really there to begin with but I decided to give my new kitten a cute french name so it  could be fashionable. So she is La Poubelle, meaning The Trashcan. Beautiful, Poetic, French. C'est Magnifique, non? Yeah... non. Well here she is.
I just weighed her in this super old school scale my friend Ginger let me borrow, she weighed 1lb 3oz. so tiny!

Second hat

Hat number 2 has finally made it to Etsy. Wow, I really need to work on doing this as if it were a job and not a hobby that I'm being forced into. Today I set up a nice little desk space that is moderately clear and I will hopefully be more productive that way.

Check it out here! Tell your friends about it and tell me what you think. I'd love some helpful critiques of the shop and my photos. Or some pro-tips if you got 'em.
I'm not particularly a fan of being my own model. I am not extraordinarily photogenic and I want to be in control of how the photos look more. I will probably ask my roommate to do it for me next time. Setting up pictures to appease the tastes of etsians will probably require more soft focus and antiqueness.I know I need better pictures. That however is another time investment I need to make. Which hey I can totally do, I've got that, but motivation is also in need of a boost. Maybe B12 and caffeine can replace motivation.
